About the Status Indicator

The ICM Main Window's Status Indicator lets you know the operational state of the ICM software.  It shows you when ICM is operating normally, when it is having connection difficulties, or when there is a problem with your account.

The Status Indicator has the following modes:

A solid yellow Status Indicator Light, if you have just installed ICM, tells you that you have installed and configured ICM correctly and that the software has connected to our system.  All that remains is to have Call Forwarding added to your phone line (How it Works).  Remember that it may take several business days for your account to become fully operational.  If you upgrade your software, your Status Indicator may show solid yellow until you receive your first Incoming Call Pop-up Window while on-line.

A solid green Status Indicator Light tells you that the ICM software is now fully operational.

Note:  To users who subscribe to Call Waiting; in order for Internet Call Manager to work properly you must disable Call Waiting when you dial up your Internet service.  Should you have questions contact Customer Service at 1-513-565-4ICM (1-513-565-4426) or e-mail cbtsupport@internetcallmanager.com.

A flashing red and yellow Status Indicator Light tells you that the software has tried to log on to an ICM server but was unsuccessful.  This usually means that there is a problem with your account, an incorrect password for example.  This state is usually accompanied by an Information Bulletin pop-up that has more information.  We suggest that you close the ICM application by right-clicking in the Display Screen area and choosing Close from the menu that pops up.  Then re-start ICM by clicking the Start menu and choosing Programs, Internet Call Manager / Internet Call Manager.  If this fails to turn the Status Indicator to solid green, contact Customer Service at 1-513-565-4ICM (1-513-565-4426) or e-mail cbtsupport@internetcallmanager.com.

A solid red Status Indicator Light tells you that the software cannot log on to an ICM server or has lost its connection to the server.  If your ICM software has never worked properly, this is an indication that your computer's network set-up is misconfigured.  If your ICM software has been working normally, possible causes include temporary Internet network failures, heavy Internet traffic, and planned or unplanned server outages.  If your ICM has been working normally, your Status Indicator Light will return to solid green as soon as the connection is established again.

A black Status Indicator Light tells you that an Internet connection could not be established. This could mean that your Connection Type setting isn't correct.  For details, refer to Specifying General Options.
